What's Happening ?
Summertime and the Livin' is Quite Damp
Actually !
So we're still on the road, playing gigs where ever we can find
them. Speaker Connolly had a really good Folk Festival week. We had a
really great night there and look forward to a retun visit.
Back in The Saddle Again.
We're back at the Kilkenny Rhythm'n'Roots 2009.
We shall be entertaining anyone who turns up at The Clubhouse
Hotel on Friday May 1st kicking off at 21:00.
We would have liked to play a few more gigs over the weekend but
unfortunately the not-so minor event of a Heineken Cup takes place on
Saturday 2nd so we will be back in Dublin for that and two
members of the band will be celebrating on Saturday, either Joe and
Paddy (c'mon Munster) or John and Ray (c'mon the other crowd !)

Music History
Raglan Rodeo were formed by Paddy Hehir
(vocals, guitar, mandolin) and Joe Deegan (vocals, guitar,
harmonica) in early 2001. Joe's previous band , Blind Gun Dog,
had just broken up , again, so , with the bass player, Martin Arthur,
they invited Paddy to form a new band with new ideas about how country
music should be presented and played.
With various drummers they played around Dublin for the next two years,
getting a set together that consisted of originals and choice covers.
Martin emigrated to France in 2003 and then, though a musician's
contact column, they met John Worth. Multi-talented and with a fine ear
for harmonies John was another piece of the jigsaw. Now all they needed
was a more permanent drummer.
But that perfect drummer proved to be elusive . Almost another
year passed by
until John met an old colleague, Ray Ellis. Ray came down to a
rehearsal and one song later they knew they had found the perfect
drummer.
